Annual slide night

This year the annual 'slide night' (which of course is now 'digital image' night) will take place on Thursday 23 November, starting at 7.30pm in the Robert Louis Stevenson room at the Royal Overseas League (see above for access information).

This is one of the most convivial meets of the year and everyone will be welcome, whether you are coming to show your photos or simply to admire the work/exploits of others.

A few points:

  • The showing of slides will begin at 7.30pm. To allow time for loading the images onto the projector and chat before the show, please arrive from 7.00pm onwards.
  • To help in gauging numbers, please let David Small know if you are intending to be there.
  • Bring your photos on a memory stick and:
    • have the photos in a folder with your name on it (otherwise we end up with a multitude of folders, all called 'JMCS slide night' and no way of telling whose is whose);
    • number your images 01,02,03 etc so that if they go out of order while being loaded we can easily remedy the problem;
    • (NB use 01,02, 03 not just 1,2,3 otherwise photo 10 is liable to come before photo 2).
  • Please sensibly ration the number of photos you would like to show, aim for a presentation of closer to 5 mins than to 10. If things run on too long there is a tendency for the audience to diminish as the hour gets late.
