Alpine Club-JMCS-SMC winter lectures

The winter 2018-2019 programme

The Alpine Club-JMCS-SMC winter lecture programme will commence as usual in October. The lectures take place on the second Tuesday of each month from October to March, starting at 7.30 prompt.
Due to the closure of the Royal Overseas League, this season's talks will take place in:
The Quaker Meeting House
7 Victoria Terrace
Edinburgh EH1 2JL
This is the galleried terrace above Victoria Street.
The easiest access is from George IV Bridge, beside Pizza Express and opposite the National Library. A hanging sign saying 'Quaker Meeting House' is the clue.
At this time of day, parking is usually available in the Grassmarket at the foot of Victoria Street.

Talks commence at 7.30pm prompt as we are obliged to vacate the premises by 9.30pm. The number of excellent hostelries in the area (in particular, the Bow Bar) should not make this a difficult task!
We will continue the tradition of entertaining the speaker before the talks and if you would like to join us for a meal then please contact the appointed host to book a place. We have yet to arrange an eaterie but Pizza Express would seem a possibility or perhaps the more upmarket Howies.
