New Members
If you would like to join the club please use the ‘Membership Enquiries’ form to get in touch and let us know that you wish to join the club.
Once we have replied you can pay your first annual subscription as described below, and also add your contact details to the club database by filling in the Contact Details form at the bottom of this page.
Before doing that new members should first have a look at the
JMCS privacy policy (to be updated).
Membership Renewal
Simply pay the subscription as described below
(the subscription form below will notify the treasurer that you have paid, so you do not need to email him).
If any contact details need to be updated please get in touch with the treasurer to have these updated.
How to pay the subscription
- Pay by bank transfer (cheques are no longer acceptable). If you cannot pay by bank transfer, email the
treasurer .
The bank account details are:
Under new payee name checks by the banks, you might need to type in the full account name as above to ensure a match.
When making a transfer please do the following.
- Put ‘surname subs’ as the transfer ‘reference’, where ‘surname’ is your surname.
Please put exactly this as the reference since: - the surname is needed since some banks choose not to forward the name of the payer to the payee….
- the exact word ‘subs’ helps greatly in sorting ‘subs’ payments into the right category in the accounts.
- Fill in the following: subscriptions form
- This form just asks for your name and has a tick box for how much you have paid.
It will notify the treasurer that you have paid (so you do not need to email the treasurer or do anything further). - You can pay for several people in one bank transfer.
However, the subs form only takes one name at a time, so if you have paid for more than one person simply reopen the form for each person and input their details separately.
Don’t try to input several names into the same form, it will just break the formatting!
Mountaineering Scotland Affiliation
When completing the ‘Add or Update Contact Details’ form above, if you are not already affiliated to the Mountaineering Scotland (formerly known as ‘Mountaineering Council of Scotland’), either as an individual member or as a member of another affiliated club, ignore the second section of the form.
If you are already affiliated to Mountaineering Scotland:
(A) To keep our records clear and consistent with those of Mountaineering Scotland (for the liability insurance) please tick the box and indicate the name of the other club (or write individual).
(B) JMCS does not have to pay Mountaineering Scotland a second subscription on your behalf – indicate whether you wish us to pay another Mountaineering Scotland subscription.
If the answer is ‘No’, you can either pay the full JMCS subscription (which will obviously help our funds) or you can elect to pay a reduced subscription.
In the latter case, please contact the Treasurer (
Bryan ) directly to discuss the amount.
If this is all as clear as mud, simply fill in the contact details on the form, and then contact the club secretary who will attempt to clarify it.
